At Cutso, our mission is to eliminate the waste created by speculative garment production, and fundamentally improve the way we (humans) produce and consume our clothes.
Most fashion brands guess which products their customers want.
When they get it wrong they’re left with unsold stock.
Burberry made headlines for burning £28m and H&M for warehousing $4.3bn (yes billion) worth of unsold stock. This is common industry practice.
Conscious consumers are increasingly unwilling to turn a blind eye to the negative impact the fashion industry is having on our planet. With big fashion moving slowly (Zara pledges to use 100% sustainable material in 5 years - that’s 1,825 days), our opportunity is to capture a significant portion of the £50bn sustainable fashion market starting today - in 2020.
We’re developing a technology platform to allow brands and designers to determine demand before producing any supply, eliminating the waste produced by unsold stock.
