Jobs at Critically

It seems today, that everyone wants to be a researcher, a scientist, a doctor, or a subject matter expert. And the ability for individuals to gain information and share that information has never been easier. However, most of the tools available focus on keeping users "on platform" through addictive techniques rather than giving users the tools to learn and grow together. We've all seen small children mimic their parents, or a profession that they want to be when they grow up like a firefighter, police officer, or doctor. Society as a whole benefits when the dreams of these youth are encouraged and not shamed. Today, the general population is doing more to gather data, analyze, learn, and practice science then ever before. And they are evolving at an exponential rate. However, there are many in our society that shout them down and say things like ‘you’re not a scientist’, ‘you’re not a researcher’, and ‘doing research is dangerous, just trust the experts'. This is equivalent to telling a small child dressed as a doctor that they are stupid, they should stop trying to learn, and that it’s dangerous to learn anything that the parent doesn’t approve of. To ensure the healthy development of our global society, it is vital that we encourage and support individuals and cultures that are seeking to gain and share information by offering them tools that empower them to think critically, and not hold them back.
