A balance sheet lender and a marketplace, Crelia uses real-time operating data to price loans on individual track record, effectively compete for low risk borrowers and offer highly targeted financial products. Real-time transparency and automated processes allow to scale SME lending enough to create an institutional solution for this high-yield high-growth asset class, previously inaccessible to institutional investors. To achieve real-time transparency Crelia connects SME borrowers’ accounts (bank and accounting system) to its advanced and predictive analytics system. This allows to monitor SME’s cash flows in real time vs budget and credit risk KPIs. Eventually, we anticipate addition of smart sensors to the real-time data stream, which would allow cross-reference. To make SME data verifiable Crelia uses blockchain. This helps SMEs build an objective and verifiable track record, unalterable by SME or Crelia itself. Real-time transparency enables individual risk pricing, which can effectively eliminate the industry practice of packing the costs of delinquent accounts for a small number of borrowers into higher interest rates for all borrowers, leading to a drop in interest rates and expansion of credit. The lowest risk SMEs, which still pay the same price as high-risk SMEs, can enjoy significant rate discounts. For higher risk SMEs the real-time reporting can expand availability of credit at higher prices. For example, asset-light or high-risk country SMEs can qualify for loans with real-time reporting.
