CouchJumping is an online social network that allows users to find meet with others in real world events and continue their interaction and friendships online. The other platforms in this space offer basic event management tools and a mechanism for searching for events. In essence, these other platforms act merely as event search engines, leaving the post event follow up and interactions to other social networking sites (such as WhatsApp and Facebook). This causes a fragmentation of the group and makes it very difficult for it to maintain its resources.

Many of the features we implement have been developed after studying first­hand accounts of the struggles event coordinators go through to try and organize an event. Ultimately, the events that they host will be the attracting feature for a lot of users. Therefore, it is extremely important to ensure event organizers are empowered with the tools and resources necessary to enable them to host high quality events.
