Industry problem Many sensing techniques have been used to detect basic physiological signals such as heartbeat and respiration. Most well-known developments of these techniques are Electrocardiography (ECG), Electroencephalography (EEG), photoplethysmography (PPG), etc. All these techniques are required to be in contact with the human’s body (sensors touch the skin directly) to obtain the desired physiological information. Also, these techniques are not monitoring the physiological signals continuously, despite the fact that extensive work has been done on contactless vital signs monitoring using radio frequencies (RF). With RF techniques, sensors can pick up breath due to the strong reflection of the body’s surface. However, it is difficult to distinguish small mechanical movements such as the heartbeat wave form with low power RF signals. Although for a few static situations the heart rate can be retrieved after careful filtering, estimation of blood pressure and simultaneous monitoring of multiple people yet remains open problem. Our solution At Corowave, we are utilizing ultra-low power near-field sensing and highly selective digital filtering techniques for measuring artery pulse signal in a non-contact, continues and non-invasive scenario. The artery pulse signal is measured directly, and relative cardiovascular parameters can be calculated by our signal processing method and revealed in real-time. The system is comprised of a measuring probe, including a transmitter, antenna, and receiver; the signal processing and machine learning.
