The global mobile first workforce has 2.7 billion workers that power many of the industries that we rely on in our everyday lives - from hospitality to construction to retail to manufacturing. These workers and their management use text messaging and paper lists as their “system of record” and communication, which causes a lack of shared knowledge, no collaboration, and errors. Ultimately, this leads to operational problems that can drive businesses to failure. Coast is a platform that combines communication with workflows (e.g. shift management, maintenance, HR, inventory, CRM). These workflows are built through a no-code platform (think Notion or Airtable) that enables customization by the end user and allows the product to be used for a diversity of jobs and sectors. By building a place where workflows and communication can coexist, enabling integrations, and a marketplace for new workflows, Coast aims to be the operating system for the mobile workforce - the dominant worker community worldwide. Using a bottoms up, self-serve approach, Coast grew over ~400% in 2020 users driven primarily through organic adoption. The usage is intense and during the work week, these mobile workers are using the product around 60 minutes a day with strong long term retention. Businesses in these industries are underserved and need tools now to build more resilient operations and Coast is here to help.
