You will be working closely with our CTO, an MIT Media Lab alum and a well-known ML expert endorsed by Google & Microsoft leaders. Responsibilities • Converting fuzzy requirements into manageable modules with high-level designs • Evaluating different design options and trade-offs to ensure the system can scale to processing petabytes of data • Breaking down modules and implementing them with a TDD & OSS mindset Requirements • Highly proficient in one of core backend languages such as Python, Go, or Scala • 5+ years of prolific coding experience building scalable backend & distributed systems • Experience working with remote teams built upon CI/CD and using TDD principles. • Deep experience with datastores like Postgres, Druid, Elastic & Snowflake Good to have • Experience committing to open source data projects like Druid, Dask or Koalas • Past experience in optimizing infrastructure performance using system internals • Past experience in planning for and optimizing DB performance at a petabyte-scale
