Catalyst uses rigorous engineering methods to design high-performance bicycle components. We currently have one product on the market, and four more on the way. We have five pending patents covering a variety of bicycle components.

While our business model currently only consists of us marketing bicycle components with our technologies to consumers, the real opportunity for us is to license our technologies to other manufacturers, and to do engineering consulting for them. This will allow us to focus more on our core competency, which is bicycle-specific engineering.

Global spend on R&D in the bicycle industry is around $1.2B, but with the highly fragmented nature of the market, much of that spending is wasted on repeating the basic research other companies have already done.

As a company focused solely on R&D we can develop economies of scale in the very specific areas of applied engineering knowledge we need, allowing us to move the sport forward while saving our clients money.
