Great software engineering is increasingly crucial to biology. We're in the midst of an explosion of biological and medical data that will transform our understanding of biology and disease. But the tools to store, process, visualize, explore, and analyze these data are often primitive—and in some cases don’t yet exist. At Calico, we want to bring the best-in-class software technology and user experience to science. Whether that's using the most promising machine learning methods, or contemporary web UI and data visualization frameworks, we aim to exceed what biologists expect of scientific software. We're a small team, and like our scientific colleagues, we have the freedom to ask big questions and make choices about the right technology for the job.
