Cairn is building an open-source, vendor-neutral control plane for AI and data infrastructure. Modern AI systems are increasingly fragmented across Kubernetes, cloud GPUs, training frameworks, workflow engines, data platforms, model providers, and evaluation systems. Cairn provides a common control layer for composing this heterogeneous infrastructure into governed, reusable, installable pipelines—without locking teams into a particular cloud or technology stack. We’re looking for a **technical co-founder** who can bridge **ML, infrastructure, product, and business**. This is a hands-on founding role. You’ll help shape Cairn’s architecture, build the product, work directly with early users, define product direction, grow the open-source ecosystem, and help establish the company’s commercial strategy. We’re particularly interested in people with experience in: * ML infrastructure / MLOps * Distributed systems * Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure * Data platforms * Model training and evaluation * Developer platforms and tooling * Open-source infrastructure You don’t need to be an expert in everything. We’re looking for someone who can understand complex technical systems, build production software, identify real user problems, and turn those problems into useful products. You should be comfortable moving between: **architecture → code → customer conversation → product decision → business strategy** Cairn is an early-stage company, so this role comes with significant ownership and ambiguity. You’ll have a direct influence on the technology, product, open-source community, and direction of the company.
