Bug Mars is changing how we farm insects, through machine learning and computer vision. Insect-based alternative protein is a solution that can contribute substantially to meeting the global demand for food and livestock feed, but current production facilities struggle to consistently meet the demand for their products. Today these facilities are operating with systems that are completely manual, labour intensive, and lack adequate observational accuracy/efficiency to track rapidly changing conditions. These limitations contribute to high loss rates, an unreliable supply chain, and significantly slows the scaling of this emergent market.
