Instead of relying on traditional institutional investors (most who no longer invest in VC firms), Brightspark attracts individual accredited Canadian investors into its new model. It has created an automated online model to make it easier for investors to choose companies. This new model and online offering opens up the investment market to many new investors showing interest in early stage investment. It solves the problem of scarcity of investment capital in Canadian startups.
