Like many industries in the U.S., agriculture is enduring a serious labor shortage. Over the last decade the cost of labor in fruit orchards has increased exponentially and now comprises 40-60% of a typical farmer's bottom line. This is resulting in record numbers of orchards going under or being consolidated - often those that have been family run for many generations. Bovi is addressing this fundamental problem by applying autonomous logistics to orchards to dramatically improve human labor efficiency.
