Culture and benefits at Bogota Dev
Culture overview
We tend to hire developers that are humble and able to work well within a team. Our hires are individuals hungry to learn more about Rails, Node, Django and Swift development. Our team meetings/standups are usually done over a video conference call once a day. We check in to see what everyone is working on and rely on tickets in Github to keep everything moving smoothly. For the most part the developers like to try and go to the park for some push-ups during their spare time or go for a walk and on the weekend’s bowling/drinking. As a company, we have team dinners and lunches every so often to check in with the developers.
Work-from-home-friendly
Developers have total autonomy to work from home a couple days a week.
In-person/online learning platforms
Bogotà Dev funds online learning platforms such as Platzi for all our developers. But if you're interested in taking a particular class (English for example) we have funded those type of courses too.
Social and professional events
Company events include free pizza & beer in addition to the workshop or hackathon that we host. Bogotá Dev hosts over 12 events every year that are focused on Rails, Angular, React, Python, Databases and more!
Speaker/ team leader
Developers and project managers are given the opportunity to work on their skills by presenting technical workshops at company events. In addition to practicing public speaking we encourage all our developers to be teacher assistants.
