Converting textile waste to valuable resource
It’s surprising that textile waste flies under the radar in Australia, given that our countries consumption of fashion is the second largest per capita in the world. Each year, there are approximately 3 million tonnes of textile waste sent to landfill with little or no textile recycling industry in this country. We also forget that many of our much loved clothes are made using 'plastic fibre'.

Briefly, our technology diverts clothing away from landfill through a world leading process that separates clothing back into its individual fibres. If you think about common fabrics such as sheets or shirts, we can separate these items back into their individual building blocks of polyester and cellulose, to then allow these to be re-used either in the textile industry or in other related fields. This is a profitable conversion, given the asymmetry between the input value and the output value.
