The company was founded by two 27 year old former journalists, who noticed that none of their friends were paying for journalism. Blendle, launched in 2014, had a lot of success and gained massive traction in homecountry the Netherlands. Since a $3,8 million investment from The New York Times and German publishing powerhouse Axel Springer at the end of last year, the company is currently working on expansion to other countries.
