The global home renovation market is worth USD 1.9T (10x larger than ridesharing, and on par with hospitality), with Canada alone being a $50B opportunity. Despite such a large market, the home renovation industry hasn’t changed much for decades: it still lacks transparency and efficiency. The home renovation market has low NPS with over 60% of Canadians do not trust general contractors (GCs). The market is fragmented with heterogeneity in the quality of the service provided by GCs. At Billdr, our mission is to make home renovations simple, transparent and efficient for everyone involved. For homeowners, we’re building tools to help them have more transparency throughout the entire renovation process so that they’re empowered to make educated decisions at every step along the way. When it comes to general contractors, we help them to be more efficient beyond the construction site by building technology to semi-automate their back office. Simply put, we’re building a one-stop-shop for all renovation needs. To get there, we’re assembling a team of hustlers with a “Mamba Mentality” and sharp thinkers that are pumped at the prospect of improving the way homes and buildings are built, renovated and repaired.
