B&H Photo was founded in 1973 to serve the photographic community of New York City. To this day, it remains a family owned and operated business. With almost no money, but a lot of spirit, they poured their hearts and souls into the store-front film shop, which was then located at Warren Street in Tribeca. In the 1970s, b&h moved to a larger place between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in the Photo District and began to expand its stock to a wider range of film and photography products. More than 55 years later, B&H Photo are still going strong.
Today, B & H has become a premiere source for photo, video and electronics equipment. It is in fact the largest non-chain photo and video equipment store in the United States. From top pros in the business to beginners who just want to learn more about taking great pictures, we work with everyone. With deep commitment to education and delivering the finest customer experience, most of the company's business comes from Internet and corporate sales.
