Delivering satellites and payloads into their target orbits can be very expensive and risky. On-orbit space tugs are a strong complement to new and heritage launch vehicles, expanding and enhancing their capabilities. Atomos’ on-orbit space tugs will rendezvous in low orbits to ferry customers’ satellites to their final destinations, offering customers 20% to 40% launch cost savings or in some cases allowing previously-unattainable trajectories to be reached. The capabilities and technologies we are developing will allow the company to eventually open new transportation lanes/transfers and address the on-orbit servicing and debris removal markets.
