Gramophone is a platform for farmers enabling efficient farm management. Farmers can buy all kinds of Agri inputs (seeds, crop nutrition, crop protection & Agri hardware) directly from the platform. Image recognition, Geo Tags for soil benchmarks, Smart Crop selection tools, nutrition management tools & personalized information led cropping system would be key to better farm management. Our technology platform helps farmers across the cropping cycle by giving information on diseases, nutrition, and analytics on commodity prices, weather-based advisory etc. Idea is to build 'Google Assistant' for farmers for all agriculture requirements. Business Model: We are building direct reach to the farmers by supplying inputs directly to them with right package for practice for each crop. This is done via India postal services and we have also created a unique last mile delivery mechanism which has reduced delivery time from 6 days to 3 days. The gross margins in this business are more than 30% and it also has a huge potential for white labels and direct partnerships (increasing the margins) as we have built a very good linkage with the farmers through best advisory. Since we have direct reach with the farmers and we capture a lot of data on farm history, expenses, farmer's cash flow, assets etc. This would become a channel for introducing lending and insurance services through our platform. Lastly, advertisement in rural areas is very difficult for every industry. Our platform will become a channel for companies to reach to farmers/rural India responsible for more than 50% consumption.
