At Absentia Labs, we are currently hiring for two key technical roles: a Senior AI/ML Engineer and a Senior Data Engineer. Both roles sit at the core of what we’re building—AI-driven systems to surface and interpret complex biological and safety signals earlier in drug development. The Senior AI/ML Engineer will focus on designing and implementing models that integrate multimodal biological data and generate system-level insights to inform critical decision-making. This role is ideal for someone with experience building and deploying machine learning systems in complex, high-stakes environments and who is excited to apply those capabilities to real-world problems in biology and healthcare. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for building the data infrastructure that powers these models, including scalable pipelines, data integration across diverse sources, and ensuring reliability and performance in production systems. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data architecture and applied science, and who can operate with a high degree of ownership. Across both roles, we are looking for candidates who combine strong technical depth with a high level of curiosity, ownership, and drive. The problems we are working on are inherently ambiguous and interdisciplinary, so we value individuals who can think from first principles, move quickly, and collaborate closely with both technical and scientific stakeholders. We also look for people who are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, early-stage environment where the scope of the work is broad, and the impact is immediate.
