Director of Engineering

Founded in 2020 ( post a few pivots in early years), CuddlyNest is the fastest-growing accommodation booking platform, offering millions of stays across 200+ countries of all types, in all styles, for all budgets — for every kind of traveler.

We are looking for a talented Engineering lead who will be responsible for entire Frontend and Backend development teams, building, innovating and delivering digital products. You will work with our technology teams to develop, maintain and develop CuddlyNest website. Ultimately, should be able to provide the technical direction and ensure the technology team works efficiently to achieve CuddlyNest’s business goals.

What You’re Responsible For:

Design and implement digital strategies within budget requirements.
Building marketplaces to serve over 1+ million weekly users
Driving successful growth and development of the entire Platform Operations.
Identify new areas of growth beyond current brand offering and products.
Provide thought leadership, innovation and process optimization initiatives such as implementing ecommerce software, best website practices, suggest new methods to improve and optimize customer experience.
Building and directing ecommerce team to effectively help develop and execute creative ecommerce solutions.

Experience and Skills:

Extensive experience working in technological roles or a similar senior-level position.
Working in a high growth start-up is strongly preferred from 0 to 1
Experience in a lead role ( 25+ team), managing teams of engineers and communicating with functional and nonfunctional teams. With ability to delegate efficiently and the humility to learn from other team members.
Proven track of executing large e-commerce websites (i.e. developing, executing and maintaining).
Have in depth experience in technologies (i.e. Complete understanding of React.js for web and mobile apps, CSS 3, JavaScript, Rest APIs work, preprocessors Sass (SCSS), UI/UX and testing tools, SSR, Next.js, PHP and MySQL development, SQL / NoSQL databases)
Experience in full stack architecture technologies and be highly familiar with design patterns and architectural principles of building reliable, scalable applications, latest standards as well as knowledge of a variety of programming languages such as JavaScript, PHP, SQL and coding using React.
