Website Developer for Mumbai

Looking for outstanding web developers to be responsible for developing innovative, reusable Web-based tools for progressive online activism & community building. We do use Joomla extensively. Our web developers work closely with our project managers, strategists & design team members to develop specifications & make recommendations on the use of new & emerging technologies. Programming, graphic design & DB admin are all elements of this position.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project Managers & other members of the Dev. Team to develop detailed specification docs with clear project deliverables & timelines.
- Produce project estimates, including expertise required, total number of people required, total no. of dev. hrs reqd, etc.
- Attend project meetings. w/ Project Managers to build & refine graphic designs for websites. Must: strong skills in Photoshop, Fireworks, or equivalent apps.
- Convert raw layouts from a graphic designer into CSS/XHTML themes.
- Determine appropriate architecture.
- Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency & accuracy any progress &/or delays. Engage in outside-the-box thinking for high value-of-service to clients.
- Alert colleagues to emerging technologies or applications & the opportunities to integrate them into operations & activities.
- Be actively involved in & contribute regularly to the dev. community of the CMS of your choice.
- Develop innovative, reusable Web-based tools for activism & community building.
Required Skills
- Experience with HTML/XHTML & CSS
- Web dev experience, including PHP & JS
- Experience working with relational database systems such as MySQL, good working knowledge of SQL
- Dev. experience using extensible web authoring tools
- Experience developing & implementing open source software projects
- Self-starter with strong self-management skills
- Ability to organize & manage multiple priorities
- Sense of Humor
Should be able to wrap head around full-scale mobile development
