Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Next Generation Sequencing department. The Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist is an advanced analytical roll focused on evolving NGS BI offerings, conducting highly complex analyses, facilitating Associate Bioinformatics Scientists and Bioinformatics Scientists in pipeline improvement/development.

Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with business and lab operations to scope out projects, comprehend project objectives, and provideinformatics solutions
• Integrate advanced statistical analysis to project design and data interpretations
• Build competencies in emerging areas in bioinformatics such as multi-omic data integration, large cohort analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence • Build/maintain proprietary databases to support advanced analytics and lab operations
• Work closely with IT specialists to build/maintain robust infrastructure and best practices • Mentor junior team members
• Support NGS with data analysis and delivery, pipeline development and automation. Provide customer support for NGS data analysis results
• Support Sales and Marketing departments and related business development effort

Qualifications:
• PhD and 3+ years in Bioinformatics or MS and 5+ years in Bioinformatics
• Broad knowledge of multiple sectors in the life sciences and NGS technology required
• Experience using NGS data for one of the following required; biomarker discovery, drug target identification, large cohort analysis
• Firm understanding of laboratory workflows and impact on downstream analysis
• Multi-omic data integration preferred
• Advanced statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence required
• Experience with database construction and maintenance required
• Strong background in software development
