Mobile Engineer

About us
We’re an early-stage startup building a consumer mobile app that helps people make better everyday choices. We’re working on the first version now, and this is our first engineering hire.

The role
You’ll build the app from the ground up and own it for the long run. You’ll work directly with the founder on product decisions and help shape how the product grows. We’re looking for someone who wants to build something and stay with it, not just ship v1 and move on.

What you’ll do

Build the iOS and Android app (React Native or Flutter preferred)
Design and build the backend, database and APIs
Turn product ideas into simple, polished features
Set up the foundations: authentication, notifications, analytics
Help shape the roadmap and, later, the engineering team

What we’re looking for

4+ years of software engineering experience
At least one consumer mobile app shipped to the App Store or Google Play
Comfortable across the stack (Node.js or Python, PostgreSQL or Firebase)
Strong product and design sense
Interest in early-stage work and a long-term commitment

Nice to have

Experience with social or consumer apps
Prior early employee at a startup

What we offer

Salary: $150,000–$180,000
Meaningful equity as an early team member
Remote (US time zones), or in person in Chicago
