Senior AI Backend & Integrations Developer

Functional Stream: Platform Engineering & Integrations (Green Stream)
Reports To: Lead AI Systems Engineer / Technical Project Manager
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor Agreement (B2B Retainer)
Location: 100% Remote (Europe-aligned time zones)

1. Role Purpose & Business Impact Core execution engineers within the developer swarm, responsible for rapidly building the backend business logic, database schemas, API integrations, and workflow automation services connecting the core engine to client portals and existing source-of-truth tools.
2. Key Responsibilities Source-of-Truth Connectors & Integrations: Build secure webhook listeners, ETL connectors, and API pipelines connecting client's existing tool ecosystem (SharePoint, Asana, Access, Power BI, Constant Contact, Prewave), including developing a contact and pipeline module to replace external CRM solutions. Workflow Automation Engine: Build backend microservices to automate the end-to-end assurance lifecycle: site registration, self-assessments, auditor dispatch, evidence intake, and report sign-offs. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Build granular permission layers separating Data Managers, QA personnel, independent third-party assessors, and board executives. Public Directory Webhook Sync: Engineer automated API connections to sync assessment awards, renewal dates, and suspension notices directly to client's public web directory. Database Modeling: Build relational schemas in PostgreSQL to handle multi-site audits, longitudinal compliance histories, and versioned documentation.
3. Candidate Profile & Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of robust backend development in Python and Node.js/TypeScript. Tech Stack: Python, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, RESTful APIs, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git. Speed & Agility: Proven ability to write clean, documented code in fast-paced 2-week agile sprint cycles.
