Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract job with a client in Plano, TX (Hybrid). Ideally looking for applicants with a background in the financial services industry.Rate Range: $60-70/Hr; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Senior Java Technical Lead / Solution Architect with strong expertise in Java development, Spring frameworks, enterprise architecture, distributed systems, and technical leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end delivery of enterprise applications, ensuring quality, scalability, security, and timely execution.Lead and mentor a small Agile team comprising developers, testers, and a Product Owner.Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and hands-on support for complex engineering challenges.Design and review high-level and low-level technical solutions (HLD/LLD).Identify and resolve technical roadblocks, address design challenges, and guide implementation decisions.Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.Design and develop scalable microservices, REST APIs, and distributed applications.Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and/or messaging technologies such as MQ.Ensure application performance, resiliency, security, observability, and maintainability.Drive legacy application modernization and migration toward cloud-native architectures.Promote engineering best practices, automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.Leverage GitHub Copilot, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted SDLC practices to improve developer productivity and software delivery quality.Required Technical SkillsJava and Backend FrameworksStrong hands-on experience with Java 8 and Java 21.Spring Boot 2/3, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, and Spring Batch.Hibernate and JPA.Multithreading, concurrency, JVM performance optimization, and garbage collection (GC) tuning.REST APIs, SOA services, and JUnit testing.Mule and enterprise integration experience.Architecture and Distributed SystemsSolution architecture and technical design, including HLD and LLD.Microservices architecture and distributed systems.Event-driven architecture and domain-driven design (DDD).Designing scalable, resilient, secure, and observable applications.Legacy application modernization and cloud-native transformation.Messaging and IntegrationHands-on experience with Apache Kafka and/or MQ messaging technologies.Experience designing asynchronous, event-driven integrations and distributed messaging solutions.DatabasesStrong experience with Oracle databases.Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development.Database design, query optimization, and enterprise data integration.Generative AI and AI-Assisted DevelopmentExperience using GitHub Copilot for software development.Knowledge of prompt engineering and effective AI-assisted coding practices.Understanding of AI-assisted Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts.Ability to apply AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality, security, and engineering standards.If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
