Senior Software Engineer

we're looking for an experienced software engineer to join our small, in-person team in austin, tx.

problems is building a platform that agents interact with when they need support from a company. agents get stuck, and we help them get unstuck. imagine you're ordering groceries with your agent and something goes wrong. problems bridges the gap so that the grocer knows what happened and the agent learns if there's any workarounds.

what we're looking for:

• an engineer with at least some experience in the pre-ai development world or proven chops working at a fast-paced startup or contributing to open-source
• you're on the edge of building using ai & agents, and have strong feelings about how awesome your workflow is
• a self-starter who's capable of helping drive a feature or fix a problem from customer feedback
• an engineer who wants to do more than just "build stuff" but instead wants to creatively help us come up with the best solutions and advocate for them
• someone with strong convictions, loosely held. you believe in a direction but also are open-minded. you make decisions.

someone who would spike heavily for us and we would move quickly for has the following traits:

• she thrives when getting an abstract concept to work on, not a list of concrete steps
• he wants to grow through increased ownership (even if not clearly defined) as the startup grows
• she's not afraid to share their unhinged thoughts and speaks up

• our platform is pretty much all typescript and data is mostly mysql
• we're in a small, quirky craftsman off of west 6th in downtown austin and work in office 2-3 days a week
