We're seeking a Principal Network Engineer to serve as the technical authority for a large enterprise network environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned network professional with deep expertise in routing, switching, network architecture, and enterprise-scale modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Own and lead enterprise routing and switching architecture across LAN, WAN, and data center environments.
Design and support technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, VRFs, multicast, and high-availability solutions.
Lead network modernization efforts, including segmentation, automation, lifecycle upgrades, SDN adoption, and IPv6 transitions.
Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex network issues and architectural decisions.
Develop implementation plans, cutover strategies, testing procedures, and technical standards.
Mentor network engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, and operations teams to deliver secure and scalable network solutions.
Required Qualifications
7-10+ years of Network Engineering experience.
3-5+ years supporting enterprise-level network environments.
Active Secret Clearance.
Security+ certification (or equivalent IAT Level II certification).
Strong experience with enterprise routing and switching technologies.
Hands-on experience with Cisco networking solutions.
Experience creating network architecture, engineering documentation, and implementation plans.
Preferred Qualifications
CCNP certification.
Experience with Palo Alto, Aruba, Dell, Infoblox, or Brocade technologies.
Experience leading network engineering teams and large-scale infrastructure projects.
Background supporting network segmentation, secure enterprise connectivity, and modernization initiatives.
What We're Looking For
This is not a traditional network engineering role. We're looking for an engineer who can define network architecture, influence technical strategy, lead major initiatives, and provide guidance to both engineering teams and technical leadership. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting a complex BGP issue as they are presenting architectural recommendations to executive stakeholders.
If you're interested in working on large-scale enterprise infrastructure and driving the future direction of a mission-critical network environment, we'd love to connect with you.
