About Linkton
At Linkton we build reliable AI for the companies that make medicines: large pharmaceutical companies and the CROs that run their trials. Our platform, Link, connects the systems these teams already run on and puts AI to work across them, with an expert's approval and a complete record behind every result. We already work with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies.
Alongside the product, we do our own research on agent harnesses and models for work where a wrong answer has consequences. What we learn goes straight into Link.
About the Role
As our Founding Engineer, you'll own Link's full stack while we push the harness and model research forward. You'll shape our product architecture, how we build with coding agents, and our engineering culture as the team grows. This role suits a strong backend engineer who is comfortable with ambiguity and excited to wear many hats. That means writing code and reviewing what agents write now, then helping hire and lead the engineers who join after you.
What You'll Do
- Own Link's backend and APIs end to end, from the Postgres schema to the React screen that uses them
- Direct coding agents on real work, and catch it when they say "done" and it isn't
- Find and fix hard failures: race conditions, retry loops, lost errors, stuck background jobs
- Turn harness and model research into reliable product features
- Take projects from idea to production with little oversight, working directly with product, design and research
- Set the engineering bar: the tests, checks and practices future engineers will inherit ### What We're Looking For
- 3+ years building production backends in Python, ideally Django
- Strong Postgres: transactions, locking, indexing, safe migrations
- Enough React and TypeScript to ship a feature on your own
- Coding agents (Claude Code, Codex or similar) in your daily work, and the judgment to check their output
- A hard production bug you can explain from symptom to root cause
- Comfort switching between roles in an unstructured, high-ownership team. Consider this strongly if you want to found a company one day.
