Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer for a 6+ Contract position with a client located in Garden City, NY

Pay Range: $30/hr - $35/hr (The rate may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Job Summary:

• Provide day-to-day Manufacturing Engineering and/or Quality Engineering support to production operations.
• Assist operators and production personnel with troubleshooting manufacturing, process, and quality issues.
• Investigate production problems and help identify practical solutions that minimize disruption to manufacturing.
• Support the development, revision, and improvement of manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process documentation, and inspection requirements.
• Participate in root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and problem-solving activities related to manufacturing and quality concerns.
• Assist with continuous-improvement activities involving processes, tooling, equipment, workflow, and production support.
• Support the implementation and follow-up of corrective or process-improvement actions.
• Work directly with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and manufacturing personnel to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum.
• Provide hands-on engineering support on the manufacturing floor as production needs arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, or a closely related manufacturing role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and other technical documentation.
• Comfortable working directly with operators, manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment on the production floor.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing or quality issues and develop practical solutions.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous-improvement methodologies preferred.
