The successful candidate will transform system requirements into executable test procedures using dSPACE HIL platforms and the TraceTronic ecu.test framework while supporting continuous improvements to automated testing processes.

This position requires strong expertise in Python, MATLAB/Simulink, dSPACE toolchains, requirements-based testing, and automated test execution. The engineer will collaborate closely with systems, controls, software, and validation teams to ensure robust verification of vehicle and subsystem functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and execute automated tests using TraceTronic ecu.test.
  • Convert Excel-based test procedures and scripts into executable ecu.test test cases.
  • Create and maintain automated test procedures using Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and ecu.test.
  • Configure and execute validation activities utilizing dSPACE HIL assets.
  • Utilize dSPACE ControlDesk and ConfigurationDesk for test setup, configuration, and execution support.
  • Integrate MATLAB and Simulink models into dSPACE validation environments.
  • Interpret engineering requirements and translate them into traceable, requirements-based test cases.
  • Review, verify, and analyze automated test results generated within the TraceTronic environment.
  • Perform manual result analysis where necessary to validate expected system behavior.
  • Evaluate test coverage, repeatability, effectiveness, and overall validation quality.
  • Communicate test findings, issues, and recommendations to engineering leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for test automation pipelines, test reporting, and validation processes.
  • Develop and enhance Python-based backend tools supporting test execution, processing, and reporting activities.
  • Troubleshoot test setup, integration, and execution issues across xIL environments.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in HIL/xIL testing and validation environments.
  • Hands-on experience with TraceTronic ecu.test setup and execution.
  • Experience converting Excel-based test procedures into automated test cases.
  • Experience executing tests using dSPACE HIL systems.
  • Strong experience with Python programming for test automation and backend tool development.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink model development and integration.
  • Working knowledge of dSPACE ControlDesk and ConfigurationDesk.
  • Ability to interpret system requirements and develop executable verification procedures.
  • Experience analyzing automated test results and verifying compliance with requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in validation environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
