About the job

M&S (which stands for Management and Solutions) was conceived in 2002 with the vision of creating highly effective teams of elite consultants to deliver strategic process and technology solutions to enterprise organizations across the US. Our commitment to delivery in complex environments and long-term customer success has merged process and technology into innovative solutions, established deep pockets of expertise, and enabled innovative transformation for evolving businesses.

We have intentionally cultivated steady growth focused on being approachable and helpful to our dearly valued clients and closely cared-for employees. M&S people simply “care hard”, and this reflects in our work products, our interactions, and our culture.

Job Description:

The main function of a Front-End Developer is responsible for using their knowledge of programming languages to code user-side applications, including visual elements like menu bars, clickable buttons and the overall layout of websites or web applications. Their duties include communicating with clients to identify their needs, optimizing websites for different formats like desktops and mobile phones and running tests to ensure code strings perform the correct functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deep and thorough knowledge of Next.JS and React, no AI or agentic coding will be allowed in their environment. Must be very comfortable in all layers of the code, from the top user-facing React components to the server-side Next.JS routing and API handling. Be comfortable with maintaining package versions, do major version upgrades and resolve breaking changes that accompany those. Create and maintain integrations with 3rd-party services (mostly analytics, the big ones are Google Analytics, Siteimprove, and Qualtrics).
  • Experience with Strapi, both using it and making code changes. The assigned tasks could range from making a new simple collection type to writing expansive custom middleware. Expert-level knowledge is not strictly required but more experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with using Java-based Selenium for writing automated tests. This is a nice-to-have, as there will be plenty of examples to reference (I had no prior experience and got up to speed almost immediately).
  • Some level of familiarity with ADO (Azure Dev Ops), since this will be the main way to manage everything from sprints to features to code pull requests and deploys.

  • Working with clients to develop the overall look and design of a website.

  • Writing website code with programming languages such as HTML, C++ and Java.

  • Producing, maintaining and modifying websites and user interfaces.

  • Incorporating applications, graphics, audio and video clips into client websites.

  • Creating tools that enhance the user's website experience.

  • Ensuring websites are accessible across many platforms, including laptops and smartphones.

  • Routinely testing websites for ease of use, speed and other quality factors.

  • Fixing any website issues or bugs that arise. Skills: - Proficiency in website programming languages such as HTML, C#, CSS, Python, C++ and JavaScript.

  • Understanding of key website design principles and SEO optimization.

  • Ability to use client input to create functional, creative and user-friendly webpages.

  • Ability to test and debug websites.

  • Analytical and detail-oriented.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Advanced problem-solving skills.

  • Observant and able to remain focused on tasks for long periods of time.

Nice to Have:

  • Some experience with Qualtrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related experience.
  • 5 years of experience.
