Mechanical Engineer

My client, Emerson/National Instruments is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a consulting role that will go at least 12-24 months, and some potential for right to hire to FTE... The role is onsite in Austin, TX.

Partial Summary:

The ADG CCS Engineering team is seeking to hire an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work on custom engineering opportunities that enable the sale of standard NI Products.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with NI customers, sales personnel, R&D Engineering and Alliance Partners to define, document, design and deploy NI products tailored to meet specific customer requirements for large scale turnkey engineering solutions. The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge regarding NI products and system level design.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Generating requirements documents and generating statements of work

• Specifying, designing, prototyping, testing, and deploying turnkey automated test and measurement solutions

• Defining and implementing project plans; managing milestones and holding reviews to assure systems meet requirements and readiness for deployment.

• Designing/modeling /prototyping mechanical system components for test and measurement solutions

• Traveling as needed domestically in support of project objectives

Experience and Skill Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

• BS Degree: in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics

• Minimum of 8 years relevant industry experience in a Mechanical Design Role

• Intimate knowledge of 2D & 3D design tools i.e., Creo, SolidWorks
