About the job
Robot Ops team runs the day-to-day operation of our robot fleet — teleoperating robots to collect high-quality training data, running evaluation benchmarks, and keeping hardware and data pipelines healthy. We're hiring a Robot Operator to join that team and own hands-on robot operation under the direction of our Lead Operators and Data Ops Lead.
This is an on-site, hands-on role: you'll spend most of your day at the controls of a robot, not behind a planning doc. It's a great fit for someone who's precise, patient with repetitive tasks done well, and curious about how robots actually work.
Responsibilities
Teleoperate robots through scripted and ad hoc tasks, producing clean, high-quality demonstration data for training.
Follow data-collection protocols precisely — consistent setups, labeling, and session logging so downstream teams can trust the data without re-checking it.
Run evaluation benchmarks on robot policies and record results accurately.
Spot and flag hardware issues (calibration drift, sensor faults, mechanical wear) before they affect data quality, and escalate to Mechatronics or a Lead Operator when repair is needed.
Keep the workcell organized, charged, and ready for the next session; follow safety procedures around powered hardware at all times.
Work closely with Lead Operators and the Data Ops Lead to prioritize which tasks, robots, or environments need coverage each day.
Write clear notes on anything unusual — a bad run, an edge case, a near-miss — so the team can act on it.
Qualifications
Strong hand-eye coordination and comfort with controllers, joysticks, or VR-style input devices.
High attention to detail — you notice when a run is slightly off, not just when it clearly fails.
Comfortable with repetitive, focus-intensive work over multi-hour sessions.
Able to follow written SOPs exactly, and to say clearly when something doesn't match the SOP.
Basic technical comfort: reading a dashboard, filling out a structured log, using a shared drive or ticketing tool.
Reliable, on time, and able to work on-site five days a week.
No specific degree required; we care about demonstrated precision and follow-through over credentials.
Nice to have
Prior teleoperation, robotics lab, or motion-capture/data-collection experience.
Hands-on time with any of: LG, Dexmate, AgiBot, SO101, or Trossen robot platforms.
Basic familiarity with ROS or similar robot middleware — enough to read logs and understand what the robot is doing, not necessarily to write code against it.
Background in gaming, drone piloting, CNC/machine operation, or another field requiring precise manual control.
Interest in growing into a Lead Operator or Mechatronics role over time.
