About the job

MettleBridge is an early-stage UK venture developing Attune, a B2B SaaS product designed to help employers assess their organisational readiness for neuroinclusive employment.
Attune focuses on the organisational systems, management practices and workplace conditions that influence the recruitment, support, retention and progression of neurodivergent employees.
Our ambition is to help employers move beyond inclusion commitments towards a more structured, evidence-informed understanding of organisational readiness and practical opportunities for improvement.

We are now looking for a capable, hands-on Software Developer to help develop the Attune platform from its existing prototype and defined product requirements.

The opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an early-stage technology venture and contribute directly to the development of a product with a clear business purpose.

You will work closely with the founder, who leads the product vision, methodology, assessment logic and requirements. Your responsibility will be to translate those requirements into a functional, maintainable and secure software application.

We are looking for a practical developer who enjoys building products, solving problems and delivering working software within a focused part-time arrangement. This is a hands-on development role rather than a conventional CTO or executive position. You will not be expected to create the underlying business methodology or lead the company's commercial strategy.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and improve the Attune web application using the existing prototype and agreed product specifications.
  • Implement assessment questionnaires, structured workflows, evidence capture and reporting functionality.
  • Translate product requirements into clear, maintainable and testable code.
  • Work with appropriate databases, APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Implement relevant authentication, access controls and secure data-handling practices.
  • Integrate AI capabilities where specified and technically appropriate.
  • Test functionality, investigate defects and improve application reliability.
  • Document the codebase, deployment process, dependencies and technical decisions.
  • Deploy and maintain development and test environments, with a clear pathway towards a pilot-ready product.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend practical improvements within the agreed scope.
  • Work collaboratively with the founder to review progress, demonstrate functionality and prioritise development tasks.

Essential skills and experience

  • We are looking for someone with demonstrable practical software development skills, including:
  • Experience developing web applications using a modern programming language and framework.
  • Familiarity with front-end and back-end development.
  • Experience working with databases, APIs and application integrations.
  • An understanding of software testing, debugging and version control.
  • Awareness of application security, data protection and appropriate access controls.
  • The ability to interpret written requirements and turn them into working functionality.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Clear communication and a disciplined approach to documenting and delivering work.
  • Experience building SaaS products or AI-enabled applications would be advantageous. Familiarity with Azure or another established cloud platform would also be beneficial.
  • We are open to candidates with different career backgrounds who can demonstrate the relevant technical ability through previous work, projects or a portfolio.

Working arrangement
This is a part-time position of 16 hours per week, with the working pattern agreed with the successful candidate.

The role is designed to support focused development alongside regular progress reviews with the founder. Remote working within the UK is anticipated, subject to agreement.
The employment contract will specify working hours, pay, paid leave and other applicable terms.
This position does not require an equity investment or contribution from the successful candidate. Any future incentive arrangements would be considered separately and would not replace salary or statutory employment entitlements.

Initial objectives: first 90 days
The successful candidate will work with the founder to agree a practical development plan. Initial objectives are expected to include:

  • Review the existing prototype, development materials and product requirements.
  • Establish or improve the development environment and version-control practices.
  • Implement agreed improvements to the core assessment workflow.
  • Develop and test the relevant evidence-capture and reporting functionality.
  • Document key technical decisions, dependencies and deployment procedures.
  • Demonstrate working progress against agreed milestones.
  • Identify the remaining work required to prepare the product for structured employer testing.
  • Deliverables will be prioritised according to the existing prototype, technical findings and the time available.

Who would be a good fit?
You may be suited to this role if you:

  • Enjoy building practical software rather than focusing solely on strategy or consultancy.
  • Can work from defined requirements while identifying gaps that need clarification.
  • Are comfortable in an early-stage environment where the product is being developed iteratively.
  • Can manage your time effectively within a 16-hour working week.
  • Take responsibility for code quality, testing and documentation.
  • Are interested in contributing to a product addressing organisational readiness for neuroinclusive employment.

You do not need previous experience in neurodiversity or HR technology. The founder will provide the product context and methodology.

How to apply
Please submit your CV and a short covering note describing:
Your relevant software development experience.
The technologies and frameworks you have used.

Examples of applications or projects you have built.
Your experience with APIs, databases, SaaS or AI-enabled functionality, where applicable.
Your availability for a 16-hour-per-week position.
Links to a portfolio, GitHub profile or relevant projects are welcome.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to discuss a practical development scenario relevant to the role. Any assessment will be proportionate to the position and its requirements.
MettleBridge welcomes applications from candidates with relevant skills and experience from a range of professional and educational backgrounds. Selection will be based on the technical requirements of the role, demonstrated capability and ability to work effectively within the agreed arrangement.
