Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Mutually Human is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional business acumen and consulting skills. You'll embed within client organizations to understand their operations, identify opportunities, and design and deliver AI, data, and software solutions that drive measurable business value.

We're looking for someone equally comfortable leading business workshops, advising executives, and building production-ready technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Engagement: Build trusted relationships with business and technical stakeholders, developing a deep understanding of client operations, challenges, and strategic objectives.
• Consulting & Discovery: Lead workshops, technical assessments, and discovery engagements, translating ambiguous business challenges into actionable strategies and solutions.
• Hands-On Engineering: Architect, prototype, and deploy AI, software, and data solutions, including LLM applications, RAG, AI agents, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Solution Strategy: Develop technical architectures, recommendations, estimates, and implementation roadmaps aligned with business value and feasibility.
• Delivery Ownership: Drive solutions from discovery through deployment and adoption, collaborating across engineering, consulting, and presales teams.
• Continuous Improvement: Leverage AI-augmented development, contribute to reusable consulting methodologies, and proactively identify opportunities to deliver additional client value.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, data engineering, or solutions architecture.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging business leaders and executives.
• Proven ability to facilitate workshops, lead discovery, and translate business challenges into technical solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, APIs, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), and modern software development.
• Experience developing production AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, or intelligent automation.
• Strong business acumen, consultative problem-solving skills, and ability to independently navigate ambiguity.
• Experience delivering secure, scalable solutions from prototype through production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in technology consulting, forward deployed engineering, or client-facing solutions architecture.
• Experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or similar enterprise data platforms.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Azure AI Foundry, or Amazon Bedrock.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, enterprise integrations, and data governance.
• Experience supporting presales, technical assessments, solution planning, or consulting engagements.
