About the job
Real estate in India runs on WhatsApp forwards, spreadsheets and memory. The same property is shared by a dozen people, buyers get lost in chats, and good deals never meet the right buyer.
We're building the platform where India's real-estate professionals work and connect, backed by more than 20 years of brokerage experience in Gurugram and NCR. The product is already built: a large, production-grade TypeScript codebase spanning a web app, iOS and Android apps, an API and dozens of background services. Now we're growing the team that takes it to market.
The role
You'll be the second engineer on the team, working day to day with our founding engineer and directly with the founder. You'll ship real features every week across web, mobile and the API, with your code reviewed by someone who knows the system end to end.
This is a role for someone early in their career who wants to grow fast: real ownership, a product heading to market, and a codebase that rewards care.
What you'll do
- Build features end to end: the screen, the API route, the database query and the background job behind it.
- Build mobile screens in React Native with Expo, alongside the web version of the same flow.
- Make every screen complete: loading, empty, error and permission states, on phone and desktop widths.
- Build internal tools for moderation, verification and operations.
- Fix bugs and performance issues, and trace a problem from the UI down to the query that causes it.
- Work with AI coding agents as a daily tool, and own every line that ships: you can explain and debug what you merge.
- Keep the bar high: type-safe code that passes our checks, clear commits, and pull requests a reviewer can follow.
Our stack
- Language & tooling: TypeScript (strict), Bun
- Web: Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, Tailwind CSS v4, TanStack Query, Table & Form, Zustand, Motion
- Mobile: Expo, React Native, Expo Router, Reanimated, HeroUI Native, FlashList
- API & auth: ElysiaJS with an end-to-end typed client, better-auth, Zod
- Data: PostgreSQL with PostGIS, Drizzle ORM
- Search & jobs: Meilisearch, Qdrant, Inngest, Redis-compatible cache
- AI: LLM-based extraction from unstructured text
- Observability: Sentry, PostHog, OpenTelemetry
You don't need to know all of this on day one. You do need strong TypeScript and React, and the appetite to learn the rest quickly.
What we're looking for
- 0–2 years of experience. Internships, freelance work and serious personal projects all count.
- Strong TypeScript and React. You're comfortable with components, state, hooks and async data.
- At least one full-stack project you built and shipped, with a link we can look at.
- Solid SQL basics: joins, indexes and why a query is slow.
- A good grasp of HTTP, APIs and how authentication works.
- You use AI coding tools, and you understand everything they produce.
- Attention to detail in UI: spacing, states and how a screen feels to use.
- You take code review well and learn from it quickly.
Good to have
- Next.js App Router or React Native / Expo experience.
- PostgreSQL, Drizzle or another ORM.
- Tailwind CSS, animation or design-system work.
- Background jobs, maps or search in a past project.
- Comfortable in Hindi and English. Our users are brokers across NCR.
What you'll get
- Close mentorship from our founding engineer, with every pull request reviewed.
- Real ownership early: you join before launch, and your features ship in weeks, not quarters.
- A modern stack across web, mobile, API and AI, in one codebase.
- Equity in a company at its earliest stage.
- Direct access to the founder: fast decisions and minimal process.
This role may not suit you if
- You want to work only on frontend or only on backend.
- You're looking for a remote role. We work together in person.
- You merge AI-generated code you can't explain.
How we hire
- Intro call with the founder (20 min).
- A short practical task (3–4 hours).
- Pairing session with our founding engineer (60 min): we build or fix something together.
- Founder conversation, then an offer, usually within two weeks.
How to apply
Wellfound will ask you "What interests you about working for this company?" Use that answer to tell us all of the following. Applications that skip them won't be reviewed.
- Your GitHub or portfolio, and one full-stack project you built and shipped, with a live link.
- The hardest problem you solved in that project, and how you solved it.
- A time AI-generated code was wrong or misleading, and how you caught it.
- In-office: confirm you can work from our office in Sector 42, Gurugram, and your notice period or earliest start date.
- Your current CTC (or stipend) and your expected CTC.
