About the job

At UVeye, we're on a mission to redefine vehicle safety and reliability on a global scale. Founded in 2016, we pioneered the world's first fully automated suite of AI-powered vehicle inspection systems, combining computer vision, machine learning, and generative AI.

With over $380M in funding and strategic partnerships with Toyota, Amazon, General Motors, JLR, Volvo, and Hertz, our technology is deployed across manufacturing plants, dealerships, wholesale auctions, fleets, and seaports worldwide. Named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2026, our 270+ global employees are solutions-oriented, accountable, and driven by one shared goal: making roads safer for everyone.

We’re looking for a hands-on hardware quality leader to own product quality and field reliability across the full lifecycle, from supplier to customer site. You’ll take UVeye’s Q&R function from its first formal plan to a company-wide standard. You’ll be the person who makes sure quality is designed in, measured, and owned end-to-end.

A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact

🏭 Supplier & Contract Manufacturing Quality

  • Set the quality bar for Tier 1 EMS partners: requirements, audits, scorecards, and quarterly quality reviews.
  • Lead supplier qualification and certification, including second sources for single-source and critical components.
  • Drive 8D, root-cause analysis and CAPA with CMs and sub-vendors through to closure.
  • Define incoming inspection, FAI and acceptance criteria for complete system configurations.

🚀 NPI Quality

  • Own quality gates from DVT through production start and ramp-up.
  • Join design reviews and DFMEA, and lead PFMEA, control plans, and design transfer.
  • Hold in-house assembly to the same standard as contract manufacturing.

📡 Field Reliability

  • Own installed-base reliability: failure rates, MTBF, repeat failures, RMA root cause, and reliability growth.
  • Turn field service and system-health data into prioritized corrective actions for Engineering and HW, and into inputs for predictive maintenance.
  • Co-define pre-dispatch checks and installation quality standards with Delivery & Support.
  • Support customer uptime and system-performance SLAs.

📊 Quality System & Metrics

  • Own the Q&R plan and the ISO 9001–based QMS: certifications, document control, and continuous improvement across all functions and sites.
  • Publish a weekly Q&R dashboard built from ERP, PLM and Salesforce data, and report directly to the COO.

🔧 Hands-On Leadership

  • Be the escalation point for critical quality and reliability issues.
  • Go to the line, to suppliers, and to customer sites yourself to find root causes and close them.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain & Manufacturing, NPI & Engineering, HW, Delivery & Support, and Performance & Excellence.

What you bring

  • 10+ years in quality and reliability for complex electro-mechanical hardware with embedded electronics, optics, and software, including 5+ years owning quality across suppliers, production, and the field.
  • Experience leading quality with Tier 1 EMS contract manufacturers and a multi-site supply base.
  • A track record of taking products through NPI into volume production, including FAI, PFMEA, control plans, and ramp-up.
  • Hands-on supplier quality experience: audits, qualification, second-source certification, and 8D closure.
  • Field reliability experience with an installed base: failure analysis, RMA, MTBF, and warranty data.
  • Experience building or running an ISO 9001 QMS.
  • Strong data skills, including building dashboards from ERP, PLM and CRM data.
  • Excellent English and the ability to influence across functions and countries.
  • B.Sc. in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel about 25–30%, including internationally.

Nice-to-have:

  • ASQ CRE, ASQ CQE, or Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Experience building a Q&R function from the ground up at a scaling hardware company.

Benefits we offer:

  • Competitive Medical, Dental, Vision.
  • Company 401k Match.
  • 20 PTO days, company-paid holidays.
  • Career growth as we scale across the US.

Compensation:

UVeye provides salary ranges that comply with the New Jersey State Law on salary transparency in job advertisements. Physical Requirements & Travel:

This role may involve on-site or field-based activities. Depending on the position, tasks may include extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking; working in and around vehicle service areas, rental facilities, dealerships, manufacturing sites, or warehouse environments; and performing occasional manual tasks such as lifting or carrying up to 40lbs, bending, or reaching. The role may also require travel, working in varying environmental conditions, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate.
