About the job

The Product Manager position will report directly to the VP of Product and will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our product roadmap. This is a critical role at ChargeScape, with the opportunity to help shape our product and build a best-in-class vehicle-grid integration platform. This is an in-person role based out of our headquarters in Austin, TX. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Product ownership: Own one or more areas of the ChargeScape platform, such as our web-based portals for utility clients and OEM partners, our API suite, or new product offerings to support bidirectional charging (V2X), EV fleet charging, or shared charging in apartments, condo buildings, and other multi-unit dwellings (MUDs).
  • Product Strategy: Collaborate with leadership and the sales, account management, and partnership teams to define ChargeScape's product strategy, then build, maintain, and execute the product roadmap, prioritizing work by commercial value, client commitments, and OEM capabilities.
  • Delivery with engineering: Work with the engineering team to define, build, test, and launch. Utilize AI to craft clear product requirements documents (PRDs) that define the problem, the users, and what success looks like, and partner with engineering on scope and tradeoffs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage closely with EV drivers, partners and clients, gather feedback, and translate insights into actionable product enhancements.
  • Measurement and iteration: Define success metrics for your area, use data and partner feedback to see how your product performs, and continually drive for improvements.
  • Commercial support: Support the sales team in scoping new deals and responding to RFPs.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.

The candidate

The ideal candidate has:

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in software product management within the EV charging space;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and comfort working directly with data;
  • Experience using AI tools and systems to expedite and automate workflows;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain product decisions to engineers, partners, and leadership;
  • Comfort working on hard problems in a fast-changing industry, and the judgment to make good tradeoffs with incomplete information;
  • A bias toward action and the drive to see work through to results; and
  • Previous start-up experience is non-negotiable.
