About the job
About i-Genie
i-Genie.ai is an AI-powered consumer intelligence platform that is reinventing how the world’s biggest brands understand their consumers. Instead of relying on traditional surveys, i-Genie synthesizes billions of digital signals — searches, social and video posts, ratings and reviews — into real-time insights on trends, brand health, product experience, and innovation. Our GenAI copilot, Presto, lets insights teams, marketers, and executives ask any question and get answers instantly.
Founded by consumer insights industry veterans, i-Genie works with leading consumer goods and retail companies across 25+ countries and 20+ languages. Founded 5 years ago by a team with deep experience in consumer insights, i-Genie proudly works with many enterprise leaders in consumer goods, food & beverage, petcare, and other sectors.
The Role
We’re looking for a driven Business Development Representative to help build pipeline with global consumer brands. You’ll be the first conversation many prospects have with i-Genie — researching target accounts, opening doors with insights, marketing, and innovation leaders, and setting up qualified meetings for our Commercial Directors.
This is a high-impact role on a growing, fast-moving team. You’ll work closely with Sales, Marketing, and leadership to sharpen our messaging, test new outbound plays, and shape how we go to market: primarily in the US and Europe, with leading global F500 brands.
What You’ll Do
Research and prioritize target accounts - primarily CPG/FMCG, consumer health, beauty, food and beverage, and other consumer-facing industries - and map key stakeholders in Consumer Insights, Brand/Marketing, Innovation, and Category Management.
Run personalized, multi-channel outbound campaigns (email, phone, LinkedIn, and events) to generate interest and book qualified meetings for Commercial Directors.
Follow up on inbound leads, webinar and event attendees, and marketing-qualified leads quickly and thoughtfully.
Lead discovery conversations to understand prospects’ research needs, current tools and vendors, and pain points with traditional survey-based research.
Qualify opportunities using our sales framework and hand them off cleanly to Commercial Directors with clear context.
Keep the CRM (we use HubSpot, and familiarity with it is preferred) accurate and up to date with activities, contacts, and pipeline notes.
Share market and prospect feedback with Sales, Marketing, and Product to refine messaging, ideal customer profiles, and outbound plays.
Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for meetings booked and pipeline generated.
What You Bring
2-5 years of experience in a sales, business development, or SDR/BDR role, ideally in B2B SaaS or data and analytics. *Market research or consumer insights background required *
A track record of hitting or exceeding outbound targets (meetings, pipeline, or revenue).
Comfort prospecting into senior, enterprise-level buyers at large, global organizations.
Growth mindset, with a desire to grow your career as a top notch sales professional
Data driven, desire to test & learn, understand and optimize conversion rates, find the right message to reach the right buyer at the right time
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain a technical product in clear business terms.
Strong research skills and natural curiosity about consumers, brands, and how companies make decisions.
Hands-on experience with a CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., HubSpot, Apollo, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
Self-motivation and discipline to thrive in a remote, fast-paced startup environment.
Willingness to work a schedule that overlaps with both US and European business hours.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with research technology platforms, AI-based market-research methodologies and general working knowledge of competitors in consumer insights space.
Passionate about AI, NLP, or generative AI products.
What Success Looks Like
First 30 days: Complete onboarding on i-Genie’s platform, customers, and ideal customer profile; build your target account list; begin outbound activity.
First 60 days: have booked your first qualified meetings and are actively engaged across the sales & marketing team to hone messaging and positioning
First 90 days: Consistently book qualified meetings per month and contribute to new pipeline.
Ongoing: Become a trusted source of market feedback and help refine our outbound playbook for the US and European markets.
