Nuclear physics (MCNP, SCALE, PARCS)
Fuel performance (FAST)
Radiological consequences (RADTRAD)
Work tasks may include hazard analysis, safety basis event identification, model and simulation development, transient analyses, and safety basis documentation for existing LWR, SMR, and advanced reactor designs.
This position includes writing technical reports and white papers, creating presentations, and other related tasks needed to communicate ideas, problems, and solutions.
The position offers a unique opportunity to advance the state of the art, publish research, present at conferences and workshops, and develop industry contacts and relationships.

A self-starter who:
Works well within a team or independently
Has demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
Can adapt to changing situations
Demonstrates a strong commitment to verifying results and ensuring they are technically sound
Experience with fluid dynamics, heat transfer, nuclear physics, and/or structural mechanics
Experience with RELAP5-3D or TRACE
Experience with U.S. NRC licensing (NUREGs, Reg. Guides, etc.)
Experience with safety basis events, categories, and transient analysis
Familiarity with historic, operating, and advanced nuclear reactors

Desired Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of nuclear physics
Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance (ASME NQA-1)
Familiarity with U.S. DOE authorization basis
Experience with design basis accident dose analysis
Experience with radiation shield design and modeling and simulation
Experience with:
o General calculation software such as Mathcad and/or Octave,
o Nuclear physics codes such as MCNP, SCALE, PARCS, etc.,
o CFD and Multiphysics codes,
