Job Responsibilities

• AI-Powered Software Development: Use Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other modern AI tools to rapidly build, test, deploy, and improve custom business software with minimal manual coding.
• Turn Business Ideas into Working Software: Collaborate directly with company owners to understand ideas, operational challenges, and business requirements, then independently develop practical software solutions.
• Build an All-in-One Business Management Platform: Develop and maintain a centralized system connecting company operations, employees, customers, projects, accounting, logistics, and compliance.
• Database Development and Management: Use Supabase to create, organize, and maintain interconnected databases, ensuring company information is accurate, accessible, secure, and properly structured.
• Data Collection and Intake Funnels: Build intuitive, multi-step forms and workflows that allow employees to efficiently collect, enter, update, and manage information.
• Interactive Dashboards and Reporting: Create real-time dashboards that organize financial, operational, and project data into useful displays. Enable employees to interact with these dashboards, update information, and initiate actions directly from them.
• Workflow Automation: Design and implement automations that reduce repetitive administrative tasks, streamline internal processes, generate notifications, assign responsibilities, and improve operational efficiency.
• Accounting and Logistics Automation: Develop tools and integrations for tracking revenue, expenses, job profitability, invoices, payments, carrier documentation, regulatory requirements, and other business processes.
• Third-Party Software Integrations: Connect internal applications with external platforms through APIs, webhooks, and automation tools such as n8n, Make, and Zapier.
• Application Hosting and Deployment: Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot applications using Vercel, GitHub, Supabase, and other appropriate platforms.
• User Interface Development: Work closely with our graphic design team to translate designs, layouts, and concepts into functional, user-friendly applications.
• AI Tool Research and Optimization: Continuously explore new AI development tools, agents, frameworks, and automation technologies to identify faster, more efficient ways to build and improve our software.
• Software Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Independently identify and resolve issues, test new functionality, maintain data security, and ensure applications remain reliable as the business grows.
• Project Ownership and Execution: Manage development tasks from initial concept through deployment, prioritize features with company ownership, communicate progress, and consistently deliver functioning improvements.
• Software Budget Management: Effectively utilize a company-provided software and AI tools budget of up to $1,500 per month to maximize development speed, capabilities, and productivity. Primary Objective Build and continuously improve a custom, AI-developed business operating system that centralizes company information, simplifies employee workflows, automates repetitive processes, and provides management with accurate, actionable data.

The ideal candidate will prioritize resourcefulness, rapid execution, practical problem-solving, and effective use of AI development tools over traditional manual coding methods.

Work Location & Schedule Requirements

*Work Location: Hybrid position based in Manhattan, New York City.

In-Office Attendance: Required to work in person at our Manhattan office a minimum of one day per week.

Remote Work: Remaining workdays may be completed remotely, provided the employee maintains consistent communication, productivity, and availability.

Work Schedule: Full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday.

In-Person Collaboration: Must be available for scheduled meetings with company ownership and team members to discuss software development, operational requirements, project progress, and new features.

Commuting Requirements: Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Manhattan and have reliable transportation to attend required in-office workdays. Will offer relocation assistance if required.

Communication & Availability: Must be consistently accessible during agreed-upon business hours through company-approved communication platforms.

Independent Work: Must be comfortable managing development responsibilities independently while working remotely, including troubleshooting issues, researching solutions, and completing assigned projects.

Progress Reporting: Expected to provide regular updates on development progress, completed features, current challenges, and upcoming priorities.

Technical Qualifiers
AI-Assisted Software Development: Demonstrated proficiency using Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar AI coding agents to independently build, troubleshoot, and deploy functional applications. Claude Code experience is strongly preferred.

Full-Stack Application Development: Practical experience creating complete web applications, including front-end interfaces, back-end functionality, databases, authentication, and API integrations. Traditional manual coding expertise is not required.

Supabase and Database Management: Hands-on experience with Supabase or comparable database platforms, including creating tables, managing relationships, configuring authentication, implementing access permissions, and organizing structured business data.

Vercel and Application Deployment: Experience deploying, hosting, updating, and maintaining web applications using Vercel or similar cloud hosting platforms.

Next.js, React, and TypeScript: Working familiarity with modern web development frameworks. Must be capable of understanding, modifying, debugging, and maintaining AI-generated code using these technologies.

GitHub and Version Control: Experience using GitHub to manage application repositories, track changes, maintain development history, and collaborate on software projects.

Workflow Automation Platforms: Experience building automated workflows using n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar tools, including conditional logic, scheduled tasks, notifications, and data synchronization.

API and Webhook Integrations: Practical understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, and authentication methods required to connect internal applications with third-party software and services.

Business Process and Data Architecture: Ability to translate operational requirements into structured databases, interconnected workflows, data collection forms, and automated business processes.

Dashboard and User Interface Development: Experience creating interactive dashboards, data tables, filtering systems, reporting interfaces, and multi-step forms. Familiarity with Figma or implementing designs provided by graphic designers is preferred.

AI Prompting and Agent Management: Strong ability to provide AI coding tools with clear instructions, break complex development projects into manageable tasks, review generated solutions, and coordinate multiple AI tools when beneficial.

Debugging and Problem-Solving: Ability to independently identify software issues, interpret error messages, troubleshoot integrations, and use AI tools effectively to implement and verify solutions.

Application Security and Data Protection: Working knowledge of authentication, role-based permissions, secure credential management, database access controls, and safe handling of confidential business information.

Software Testing and Quality Assurance: Ability to test application functionality, validate data accuracy, identify bugs, and ensure that AI-generated software operates reliably before production deployment.

Portfolio of Completed Projects: Must provide examples of at least two functional applications, internal business tools, or automation systems personally developed using AI-assisted development tools. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate the applications and explain their development process.
