About the job
About CIMON
CIMON is an industrial automation manufacturer founded in 1999 and headquartered in Korea, with products in use in more than 50 countries. We design and develop our own PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA software, and we offer industrial PCs and industrial monitors alongside them. We compete on solid products, flexible architectures, engineers customers can reach directly, and total system cost. Our customers are OEMs, system integrators, distributors, and end users in data centers and power applications, water and wastewater, food and beverage, packaging, and general manufacturing.
CIMON USA is the North American arm, based in Dallas with a regional office in Henderson, Nevada, serving accounts in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. We are a small team in a growth phase, and marketing is a small function here: a Brand Manager, this role, and the agencies and freelancers we use when it makes sense. Most of what customers see from CIMON in North America, this role will have designed, built, or shipped.
The role
You are the designer and the doer on a two-person marketing team, and part of your week belongs to the product. This is not a pure design seat: with the Brand Manager you run the marketing calendar day to day, which means the social channels, the email campaigns, the website, print, and the trade show program are yours to execute, not just to design for. You make the things: product one-pagers and datasheets, catalogs, trade show graphics and booth materials, LinkedIn posts and ads, email campaigns, web pages, and the demo screens we show on the website and at shows. Then you help get them out the door: website updates, social scheduling, print orders, and the coordination that makes a trade show happen.
You also design UI elements for our software products: icons, controls, panels, dialogs, and screens for Canvas, CICON, UltimateAccess Web, and the web applications we build in-house. That work happens with the development teams in the U.S. and Korea, inside their process, on their schedule. It is a real share of the job, not a side project.
The products are technical: PLCs, HMIs, SCADA software, and industrial PCs, sold to engineers. You do not need an engineering background, but you need to be technical enough to learn what the products do, open our software, take your own screenshots and screen recordings, and show the products correctly. A flyer that gets a spec wrong, or a screen mockup that could not exist in our software, is a problem here. Expect to spend your first weeks with Technical Support learning the lineup.
This is a hands-on role with a wide range: one day you are laying out a catalog in InDesign, the next you are building a landing page, the next you are specifying button states for a developer in Korea, the next you are packing a booth for a show. You will have a lot of autonomy and a short approval chain.
What you will do
Design
- Design print and digital collateral: one-pagers, datasheets, catalogs, flyers, presentations, case studies, and ads, in our brand system and to our technical accuracy standard.
- Design trade show materials: booth graphics, signage, banners, handouts, and demo station displays.
- Produce social graphics and short video for LinkedIn and our other channels: product shots, screen recordings, event clips, and simple motion graphics.
- Keep the brand consistent across everything we ship, and maintain the templates and asset library the rest of the company uses.
Web
- Design and build web pages and landing pages on cimon.com: layout, imagery, and responsive behavior, working in our CMS and with basic HTML and CSS.
- Work with the Brand Manager and engineering on website improvements: structure, conversion, and page performance.
Product UI
- Design UI elements for our software products: icons, controls, panels, dialogs, and screens for Canvas, CICON, UltimateAccess Web, and the web applications we build in-house. Deliver them developer-ready in Figma: sizes, states, spacing, and exported assets.
- Work inside the development process with the software teams in the U.S. and Korea: take requests through their issue tracker, join design reviews, check builds against the design, and write up what is off. Expect some early or late calls to match Korea hours.
- Build and maintain the UI style guide and component library for our products, so screens look consistent across products and releases.
- Build demo screens and sample projects that show the products at their best, for the website, collateral, and trade shows.
Content production
- Learn the products well enough to produce accurate content: open Canvas, CICON, and UltimateAccess Web, build simple screens, and capture your own screenshots and recordings.
- Shoot and edit product photos and short videos in the office and at events.
- Turn technical input from engineers and sales into clear, correct marketing content, and get it reviewed by the right people before it ships.
Social and campaigns
- Produce and schedule content for LinkedIn and our other channels on the content calendar, track engagement, and report what works.
- Build email campaigns and newsletters in HubSpot.
Trade shows and events
- Coordinate the logistics of our trade show program with the Brand Manager and operations: booth design and production, graphics deadlines, shipping, giveaways, registrations, and on-site setup, staffing, and teardown.
- Support company events, webinars, and customer visits with materials and setup.
AI tools
- Use AI design and content tools daily: image generation and editing, layout acceleration, copy drafting, video editing, and research. We expect you to find what works and show the team.
What the first 12 months look like
- Every product line has a current one-pager, datasheet, and catalog page, correct and in the brand system.
- New web pages and landing pages shipped on cimon.com, built by you.
- The trade show program run on schedule, including Automate: graphics, materials, shipping, registrations, and on-site setup, with nothing missed.
- Email campaigns and newsletters going out on a set cadence, with results reported.
- A steady LinkedIn cadence with content you produced, and engagement you can report on.
- An organized asset library and template set the whole company uses.
- UI elements you designed shipped in at least one software release, and a product UI style guide the development teams in the U.S. and Korea are using.
- You can build a basic HMI screen in our software and demo it.
Who we are looking for
Required
- 2+ years of graphic design experience with a portfolio that shows both print and digital work. The portfolio matters more than the resume.
- Strong in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Figma.
- You can design for the web and build what you design: a CMS, basic HTML and CSS, responsive layout.
- UI design for software at the component level: icons, controls, and screens, with states and spacing specified so a developer can build them without guessing. Figma is the tool.
- Technical enough to learn our products and show them correctly. Comfortable opening unfamiliar software and figuring it out.
- You have done the marketing work, not only the design: run a social calendar and written the posts, built and sent an email campaign, or handled the logistics for an event.
- Organized. You can run a trade show checklist with a dozen vendors and deadlines without missing one, and write the posts, captions, and short copy that go with your work.
- Willing to travel for trade shows, including setup and teardown.
- Hands-on with AI. You use AI design and content tools every day and can show us the results.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred
- B2B, industrial, manufacturing, or technology marketing experience.
- Strong sense of typography and text layout.
- Strong sense of hierarchy, composition, and color theory.
- Demonstrated experience executing your creative vision within the constraints of existing brand guidelines.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency across print and digital media types.
- Video editing and motion graphics (Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar) and product photography.
- Experience with a design system or component library, and with developer handoff: Figma dev mode, issue trackers such as GitLab or Jira, design reviews.
- Experience designing data-heavy or industrial interfaces: dashboards, HMI screens, SCADA displays, configuration tools.
- Icon design.
- HubSpot or a comparable marketing platform, and a social scheduling tool.
- Trade show production experience.
- A degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
How you work
- You bring the solution with the problem. A brief that is missing something comes back with a proposal, not a question.
- You experiment. A new post format, a new page layout, a new AI tool: you try it, measure it, and keep what works.
- Customer first. The reader is an engineer with ten minutes. Make it clear, correct, and useful.
- You learn fast. New software, new product, new show: you get into it.
- You bring ideas and you want to build. The brand's U.S. presence will look like whatever you make it.
What we offer
- Ownership of design and web for a brand building its U.S. presence: your work is what the market sees.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off.
- Flexible work hours, tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, and childcare support.
- Direct mentorship from the Brand Manager, a short approval chain, and a seat in product design with the development teams in the U.S. and Korea.
- A path to senior designer, product UI lead, or marketing lead as the team grows.
How to apply
Send a resume and a portfolio link. Include at least one piece of print work, one web piece, one software UI piece (screens, components, or icons), and, if you have it, something you made for a technical or industrial product. Email to [email protected].
