Full Stack Engineer

Simpalm is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for one of our direct clients in Dallas, TX. You will build production-grade web applications and services on the Microsoft stack (.NET, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Azure SQL) and help add AI-powered features to their products. As a senior member of the team, you will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and raise the bar for quality.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and microservices using .NET, ASP.NET Core Web API, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Azure SQL.
• Lead architecture and design discussions; produce clear technical designs and documentation.
• Build and deploy solutions on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Kubernetes, Key Vault, Storage, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Design and optimize data access using Entity Framework Core and Azure SQL, with attention to performance and scalability.
• Apply security best practices, including identity, secrets management, and protection of sensitive data.
• Integrate AI capabilities where they add value (e.g., summarization, search, workflow assistance), with appropriate guardrails and testing.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to improve productivity, and share effective practices with the team.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers; lead code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code, including unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams in an agile environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues; drive continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, including technical leadership of projects or features.
• Strong expertise in .NET (.NET Core / .NET 6+, ASP.NET, Web API).
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+) and experience with React.
• Strong SQL skills (Azure SQL / SQL Server), with an understanding of database design and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, and experience or strong interest in integrating AI services into applications, including prompt design and responsible-AI practices.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git and automated testing.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and system design skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Azure SQL Database, including performance tuning or optimization.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, and with integrating AI services into applications.
• Python experience for AI/ML work; familiarity with traditional ML concepts.
• Experience building AI agents or tool-calling workflows (e.g., Model Context Protocol).
• Familiarity with AI governance, compliance, and security considerations.
• Experience in a regulated or data-sensitive industry.
