Cloud Microphysics Research Intern

Alto Cirra is hiring a Cloud Microphysics Research Intern for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, hybrid internship based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Exact dates are by agreement. Pay is $20–$25 per hour.

Role overview
Review ice-nucleation and cloud-microphysics research, support supervised experiment preparation, and analyze data with explicit uncertainty and limitations.

What you’ll do

• Review relevant research and organize findings about ice nucleation and cloud microphysics.
• Assist with supervised preparation and documentation for research experiments.
• Analyze results and report methods, uncertainty, and limitations clearly.

Required skills and criteria

• Ability to read technical material and summarize it accurately.
• Careful, systematic approach to data analysis and experiment documentation.
• Willingness to work under research supervision and follow lab or project procedures.

Recommended skills

• Coursework or experience in atmospheric science, physics, chemistry, or research methods.
• Familiarity with statistics, laboratory workflows, Python, or scientific writing.

Work arrangement
Hands-on work and team coordination take place in person in Salt Lake City. Other work may be completed remotely from Salt Lake City as agreed with the team.
