About the job
We are seeking an experienced Senior Rust Developer to develop and maintain a software development kit that enables client applications to securely communicate with backend platform services through gRPC.
The role focuses on designing stable, developer-friendly interfaces and reliable communication layers for integration into mobile applications, game engines, and other client environments. You will contribute to a modern educational technology ecosystem that combines structured learning, educational games, and short-form educational media.
Experience the freedom of remote work from anywhere in Georgia, whether from the comfort of your home, our modern offices in Tbilisi and Batumi or a coworking space in Kutaisi.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a Rust-based software development kit for communication with backend services through gRPC
- Design clear, stable, and well-documented public interfaces for client application developers
- Implement reliable, secure, and efficient networking, authentication, error handling, retries, and request lifecycle management
- Support integration of the software development kit into mobile applications and game engines
- Collaborate with backend, mobile, web, game, and product teams to define integration requirements and technical contracts
- Contribute to protocol design, versioning strategies, compatibility, testing, and release processes
- Improve developer experience through documentation, examples, automated tests, and integration guidance
- Identify and address performance, reliability, observability, and security concerns in client-to-service communication
- Use artificial intelligence-assisted development tools responsibly to improve delivery speed, code quality, documentation, and testing
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on project or production experience with Rust
- Demonstrated production experience building or integrating gRPC-based services or clients
- Experience designing and maintaining reusable libraries, client libraries, or software development kits
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, networking, error handling, and secure communication patterns
- Experience working with protocol definitions, service contracts, serialization, compatibility, and versioning
- Ability to write maintainable, well-tested, production-quality code
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence-assisted development workflows and practical use of related tools
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment
- English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
Nice to have
- Experience supporting Rust applications across mobile, game engine, or cross-platform environments
- Experience with authentication, authorization, token management, and secure client-side session handling
- Experience with educational technology, gaming, media platforms, or consumer-facing applications
- Familiarity with family accounts, child safety, permissions, privacy-sensitive data, or parent-facing product features
- Experience improving developer experience through documentation, code samples, developer tooling, or automated integration testing
