About the job
Work Location Requirement: This is a full-time, on-site position at Murphy Door's headquarters in Ogden, Utah. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to this location for their scheduled shifts. This position is not remote or hybrid.
At Murphy Door, our software doesn't just support our business; it powers it.
We're looking for a Full-Stack Software Developer to join our small, in-house engineering team and help build the technology behind our e-commerce platforms, manufacturing operations, and business systems.
Murphy Door designs and manufactures innovative hidden bookcase doors, Murphy beds, and storage solutions. Our products are manufactured in Utah and sold online through Murphy Door and Ultra Shelf.
Behind the scenes, our engineering team develops and maintains a custom Shopify administration application, interactive 3D product configurators, automated product-rendering pipelines, AI-powered tools, and integrations that connect our business systems.
This isn't a position where you'll spend all your time working on one small feature. You'll have opportunities to work across the full technology stack, solve real business problems, and see your work make a measurable difference.
What You'll Do
· Build and maintain features in our custom Shopify application using Remix, React, TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL.
· Develop and improve Shopify storefronts for Murphy Door and Ultra Shelf using Liquid, JavaScript, and CSS.
· Support and enhance our interactive 3D product configurator built with three.js.
· Work with Python, Blender, Docker, and AWS to maintain automated product-rendering workflows.
· Develop and troubleshoot integrations with Shopify APIs, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, marketing platforms, and other business systems.
· Support our Purebrand platform using Django, React, and Node/PHP alongside contract developers.
· Write automated tests using tools such as Vitest, Playwright, and Cypress.
· Participate in code reviews, version control, and CI/CD workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
· Help maintain reliable production applications using AWS services such as EC2, ECS, and CloudWatch.
· Use AI-assisted coding tools, including Claude Code, to improve development efficiency while maintaining code quality.
· Collaborate with a small engineering team to troubleshoot issues, develop solutions, and improve business operations.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
· 1–3+ years of professional web application development experience, or equivalent experience through internships, personal projects, or a strong portfolio.
· Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and React skills.
· Working knowledge of Node.js and SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
· Comfortable working across front-end and back-end development.
· Working knowledge of Python.
· Experience with Git, pull requests, and code reviews.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to learn unfamiliar codebases and technologies.
· Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
Bonus Points If You Have Experience With:
· Shopify app or theme development, Liquid, Polaris, or Admin GraphQL APIs.
· Remix, React Router, Prisma, or Tailwind CSS.
· AWS, Docker, or cloud application deployments.
· three.js, WebGL, Blender, or 3D rendering technologies.
· Django or PHP.
· ERP or e-commerce system integrations.
· Automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
· AI-assisted development tools.
We encourage strong recent graduates to apply. Demonstrated ability, technical projects, and a willingness to learn are valuable to our team.
