About the job

🧭 About Inallmedia.com:
Inallmedia.com is a global technology and design firm focused on building impactful digital solutions through remote, distributed teams across LATAM. We partner with international clients across industries, providing long-term technical expertise, product innovation, and team augmentation.

Our teams work on high-scale platforms that require strong engineering ownership, business alignment, and measurable product impact.

🚀 Project Overview (Application Database Ecosystem):
You will join a fast-paced product development environment focused on building and scaling robust production applications. As an Application Database Engineer, your mission is to bridge the gap between application development and database infrastructure, ensuring that our data structures seamlessly support evolving software features.

This role requires a deep understanding of how data moves through application services and APIs. You will be responsible for designing schemas, integrating relational and document-based databases, and tuning performance to resolve data quality and consistency issues. By collaborating closely with engineering and product teams, you will ensure our data models are highly optimized, secure, and ready for continuous delivery.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

  • Database Design & Modification: Model new data structures and safely modify existing schemas based on evolving application requirements.
  • System Integration: Work seamlessly across relational (SQL) and document-based (MongoDB) databases, determining the optimal model and access pattern for each use case.
  • Performance & Troubleshooting: Proactively resolve data-quality, consistency, and performance issues within production applications. Troubleshoot complex data flows between API and database layers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with backend, front-end, and product team members to design comprehensive application features and scalable data solutions.
  • Code Review & Deployment: Review database code and schemas, and safely deploy database changes into production environments using Continuous Delivery practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Define and contribute to data-quality standards, testing strategies, and automated testing frameworks.

💡 Must-Have Skills

  • Education & Track Record: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience delivering, shipping, and maintaining production software solutions.
  • Relational Database Mastery: Deep production experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including relational schema design, complex query development, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and performance optimization.
  • NoSQL Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including document modeling, schema design, and integration with relational systems.
  • Application Architecture: Strong understanding of JSON, REST APIs, database security, testing, and how data moves through application services.
  • Development Tools: Strong experience using distributed version-control systems (Git/GitHub) and familiarity with agile software-development practices.
  • Clear Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions, data-modeling approaches, and engineering tradeoffs clearly.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail and a practical approach to quality, simplicity, and timely delivery.

🌟 Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Azure Cloud Data: Experience with the Azure data stack, specifically Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Pipeline Support: Experience supporting broader data pipelines in addition to core application database development.
  • Python Scripting: Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or limited pipeline support.
  • JavaScript Ecosystem: Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, or Joi.

🌐 Time Zone & Collaboration:
The role requires collaboration with teams aligned to Central Time (CT), USA. Candidates must overlap at least 4–5 hours daily with US-based stakeholders to ensure seamless architectural alignment and agile collaboration.
