Homevy is a holiday homes company in Dubai. Owners sign with us, we manage their property end to end, and we earn a commission on guest bookings. We lead with hospitality and run on technology. Our team covers guest support, housekeeping, maintenance, design and owner onboarding.

What We're Building

We're building the operating system for our property management company, from scratch. It starts with our operations dashboard and grows into a full property management platform: bookings, guests, housekeeping, maintenance and owner reporting in one system we control.

AI runs through all of it. Agents answer guests, catch problems before they escalate and coordinate our field team, working from live property and booking data.

This is real work with real users from day one. Our guests, owners and operations team will use what you build every day. You will have direct access to the founders, no layers of approval, and the freedom to make the architecture decisions.

We need someone with strong Node.js experience who can design reliable systems, write clean code and take ownership from planning through to production. You should be comfortable working through complex business requirements and building software that other engineers can maintain and extend.

You’ll work closely with our product, frontend and AI teams to connect our applications, data and automations.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Turn business requirements into clear technical designs and reliable features.
• Design databases that accurately represent properties, bookings, guests, tasks and other business records.
• Connect external platforms through APIs and webhooks, keeping information consistent across systems.
• Build background jobs and scheduled workflows that handle retries, duplicate events and failures safely.
• Implement authentication, roles and permissions so users and automated systems can only access what they’re allowed to.
• Build the APIs and services that our AI agents and automations use to retrieve information and carry out approved actions.
• Improve database queries, application performance and reliability as usage grows.
• Write automated tests, review code and maintain clear API and system documentation.
• Set up useful logs, monitoring and alerts, and investigate production issues when they happen.
• Make deployments safe, with clear ways to detect problems and roll back changes.
• Help other engineers improve through thoughtful code reviews and technical guidance.

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience building and maintaining production applications with Node.js and TypeScript.
• A solid understanding of asynchronous programming, the Node.js event loop, error handling and application performance.
• Experience designing APIs that are secure, well documented and easy for other teams to use.
• Strong database skills, including data modelling, indexing, transactions, migrations and query optimisation.
• Experience with queues, background workers, caching and integrations with external services.
• The ability to handle real-world integration problems such as rate limits, timeouts, repeated requests and events arriving out of order.
• A good understanding of application security, access control and safe handling of sensitive information.
• Strong testing and debugging skills, including investigating issues across APIs, databases and background processes.
• Good judgment about architecture: knowing when to keep things simple and when a more complex approach is justified.
• The ability to take ownership, communicate clearly and deliver work with limited supervision.

A plus

• Experience with booking, hospitality, property-management or other operations-heavy systems.
• Experience supporting AI-powered features and automated workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containers and automated deployment pipelines.
• Experience with real-time updates, audit trails and systems serving multiple businesses or teams.
